Genetics

Sire Line

Her sire HRH Colombardo was a promotion finalist at the age of 4, 5 and 6. At the age of 6, he was already being used successfully in MII competitions by the young rider Chiara Herzog.

His sire Calando II and his offspring are among the best sires in Switzerland, by Cor de la Bryère.

However, this stallion is characterized by the unique performance pedigree in his dam line. Lombarda II, achieved success at advanced level in Germany under Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst. In Switzerland, she achieved several SI and SII placings as well as victories in Puissances and Six Barres jumping competitions with final heights of over 2 meters. Her first foal was born in Germany, by the thoroughbred Grundyman XX and was later classified in show jumping up to advanced (Sb) level. Two of her foals, Cassily (by Cassini) and Alcagrund (by Alcatraz), became spectacular show jumpers and were successful up to the highest level. Numerous outstanding show jumpers have emerged from the same line, which is cultivated with the greatest attention at Pollmann-Schweckhorst Stud, including the internationally successful Eurocommerce Berlin under Wim Schroeder.

Tafina also produced Lorina GZ with the same sire (Lombard), Swiss Elite Champion in 2002 under Daniel Etter, and achieved several international placings under him. A mating with Lord resulted in the licensed stallion Locarno GZ, who was purchased by Princess Haya of Jordan.

Dam Line

Her dam Cat von Hof is a talented jumping mare, who competed internationally in children's tests with a young rider and achieved classifications up to category R/N130. She is currently helping young riders to get their jumping license and gain their first tournament experience.

Her grandsire Cernunnus von Hof, also a son of Calando II, had a brilliant career and successful in Grand Prix nationally and internationally. He was even considered "The jumping miracle from Switzerland" by Hans Britze, the breeding director of the ZfDP (Zuchtverband für Deutsche Pferde). His offspring are also successful at international and Grand Prix level.

Palmira von Hof, at the age of 11 recorded over 75 SI and SII classifications under Sandra Puttalaz (amateur) and a total lifetime earnings of over 31,000 CHF.

The granddam Cleopatra, once the star of our farm, was a beautiful trustworthy mare with a lot of scope. Although she only competed up to 130, the best thing about her was her character. She would never turn down a challenge and it was rare to go to a competition where she wasn’t highly placed, even when ridden by children.

Irco Polo was internationally successful under Paul Weier, produced several sons in Holland and Sweden, who in turn produced international horses. He also bred excellently in Switzerland and became the father of several advanced level horses.

Career

From 2017 to 2022 Colomera von Hof was classified and victorious up to 1,35m amateur classes. During these years she had consistent successes in the i,30/1,35m cathegories. Now she is in the hands of a young rider that hopes to evolve with Colomera's skills.
